## About Us
We're Stipop, a US-based company operating an AI character chat app in Japan. Our users are primarily Japanese women in their 20s-30s. We're preparing to scale paid acquisition and need precise funnel, retention, and LTV data to do it efficiently.
## Project Scope
We need a data analyst to conduct a thorough analysis of our mobile app's user funnel, cohort retention, and LTV modeling using Mixpanel and our internal database. This is a **short-term project (3 weeks)** with clearly defined deliverables.
## What You'll Do
**1. Funnel Analysis**
- Map and measure conversion rates at each stage: Install → Sign-up → First conversation → Nth conversation → First purchase (coin or subscription)
- We have baseline conversion data but need to understand **where exactly users drop off** at each stage and what drives variance in time-to-purchase
- Segment by platform (iOS vs Android) and by demographic (gender × age group — we have this data)
**2. Cohort Retention Analysis**
- Build monthly cohort retention tables (user retention + payment retention)
- Identify at which week/month users churn most
- Compare behavior: coin buyers vs subscribers vs free users
- Current subscription churn needs improvement — we need to understand which user segments churn fastest and what predicts churn
**3. LTV Validation & Segmentation**
- We have **preliminary LTV estimates** by user segment but these need validation with actual cohort spending data
- **Validate with real cohort data over time** — build a segment-level LTV model (by gender × age × platform × acquisition month) so we can set per-segment CPI targets for paid acquisition
- Key question: different segments show very different repeat purchase behavior — how does this play out over 3, 6, 12 months in actual revenue?
**4. Dashboard/Reporting Framework**
- Deliver a reusable tracking template (Google Sheets or similar) our team can update weekly
- Key metrics: DAU/MAU ratio, funnel conversion rates by stage, cohort retention curves, revenue per cohort, ARPPU trends
## Deliverables
- Funnel analysis report with drop-off rates per stage, segmented by platform and demographics
- Cohort retention tables (we have 6+ months of data)
- Validated LTV model by segment with methodology documentation
- Weekly KPI tracking template
- Summary of top 3-5 actionable insights with specific recommendations
## Requirements
**Must-have:**
- Strong SQL skills (you'll query our database directly or work with exported data)
- Proven experience analyzing mobile app funnels (SaaS, gaming, or entertainment apps preferred)
- Experience with subscription + IAP hybrid monetization models
- Proficiency in Mixpanel
- Ability to communicate findings clearly (English)
**Nice-to-have:**
- Experience with Japanese market apps
- Experience with AI/chat/social apps
- Knowledge of Google Ads / Meta Ads attribution
## Project Details
- **Duration:** 3 weeks
- **Budget:** $3,000 fixed price
- **Data access:** Will be discussed (direct DB access or data exports). We use Mixpanel for product analytics and have 6+ months of historical data across both platforms.
