At Hollyburn Community Services Society we provide a continuum of supports to youth, seniors, individuals and families with social vulnerabilities on the North Shore and we're looking for people to join our team who want to do the same.
As a Facilitator & Job Coach, you are role model who has a passion and skill for providing education, motivation and support, and can act as a mentor for youth in supporting the personal growth and career development in the trades sector. This role is a Monday – Friday job during regular office hours and involves program delivery in a classroom setting.
Qualifications:
Trades experience including 3 years' supervision experience or College Diploma plus 5 years' supervision experience.
Knowledge of Trades sector.
Must own a vehicle, hold a valid B.C. Driver's License, have a clear driving record and have business insurance with $3,000,000 liability.
Good written communication skills; computer literacy in word processing and database software.
Experience in curriculum& program development
Skills & Certifications:
First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or MANDT certificates
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Open verbal communication; ability to give and receive critical feedback.
Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a professional manner.
Positive and dynamic leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible in approaches.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide regular curriculum development to program clients and support for program staff. Motivate staff to attain and maintain program and client outcome.
Participate in the coordination of referrals and provide input on case planning.
Monitor casework for consistency and quality. Ensure effective case management and planning.
Recognize potential crises, analyze circumstances and dynamics; develop strategies to deal with crises and unusual incidents.
Ensure that client and program reports including monthly statistics, surveys, annual reports and program evaluations are accurate and complete.
Conduct studies on service, do research analysis on pertinent services issues, maintain a current awareness of service developments in program areas and may be asked to make presentations internally and externally.
Provide employment/job support to youth
Supervise youth during the job placement
Participate in client assessment activities and the creation and implementation of individual case plans
Address client barriers to employment so they can be resolved
Educate the clients on employer expectations and what is appropriate workplace behavior
Monitor, assess and assist participants to achieve their goals
File documentation, activity reporting and database maintenance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.50 per hour
