We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and store materials within our state-of-the-art distribution center. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of inventory and maintaining operational efficiency. Your primary duties will involve transporting raw materials, finished goods, and other items from one area of the warehouse to another. You will also be responsible for inspecting equipment before and after use, performing routine maintenance, and reporting any mechanical issues. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure accurate inventory counts and proper placement of goods. Adherence to all safety regulations and company policies is mandatory. This position requires a strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently.
- Stack and retrieve products from various warehouse levels.
- Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
