We are hiring a dedicated Distribution Center Associate for our Des Moines, Iowa location. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient operation of our distribution center. You will be involved in various aspects of warehousing, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. This position demands physical stamina, a strong commitment to safety, and attention to detail. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and stock incoming merchandise.
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and order pickers.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through diligent stocking and cycle counting.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially concerning safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with shipping operations, including loading trucks.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the distribution center's logistics.
- Inspect products for damage and report any issues.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, including wearing all required PPE.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking is beneficial.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.
