We are looking for a certified Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials within our warehouse. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will play a key part in maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution activities. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures for forklift operation.
- Adhere to proper lifting techniques and assist with manual material handling when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while operating equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety best practices.
- Physical ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to work varied shifts as required.
