We are hiring a Shipping Clerk to join our busy logistics hub in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our products are accurately and efficiently dispatched to customers. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying outgoing shipments, and maintaining shipment records. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of our Logistics operations, ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and Safety. This role involves some physical work, including occasional Lifting of packages and operating shipping equipment. Proper use of PPE is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing slips).
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders and documentation.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and proper labeling.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Adhere to all Safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and safe Lifting practices.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Logistics department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping or logistics is preferred. Proficiency in shipping software is a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to perform tasks requiring some Lifting. Commitment to workplace Safety and correct use of PPE.
