We are seeking a reliable and efficient Order Picker for our busy warehouse located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is crucial for our logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are picked accurately and prepared for timely shipment. You will work as part of a dedicated team, focusing on precision and productivity in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and possess a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately retrieve products from warehouse shelves based on order instructions or scanner data.
- Verify item numbers, descriptions, and quantities against the order details.
- Inspect picked items for any damage or defects.
- Stage orders correctly for the packing and shipping departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company policies.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock checks.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety shoes and vests.
- Contribute to the smooth functioning of our logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and product labels accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good physical stamina; ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to handle lifting up to 45 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of basic safety principles in a logistics setting.
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
