Ongoing Shopify Developer, Custom Theme and n8n Automations — Fix Categories Page, Remove Fake Reviews, Inventory Only and Notify Me, Tracking for TikTok and Meta
Overview
We are launching a new US-only Shopify store, , and need a dependable Shopify developer for an initial fix and build phase and then ongoing ad-hoc support as needed.
We are using a custom Shopify theme built by contractors. Current priorities include:
Fix a broken Categories page that shows placeholder or empty collections
Remove fake or AI-imported reviews currently showing on product pages and remove any review schema
Enforce inventory-only selling so customers cannot buy when inventory is 0, and show a Notify me option when out of stock
Prepare the store for TikTok ads first and Meta ads next, with clean tracking and verified events
Later, build n8n automations for operations such as order alerts, reporting, and fulfillment or tracking workflows
This is intended to be a long-term relationship. After the initial milestones, we will have ongoing changes such as landing pages, new sections, speed improvements, tracking fixes, and automation tweaks.
Phase 1 — Paid Trial Milestone, fixed scope
Goal: prove you can work safely in our custom theme, deliver cleanly, and document changes.
Deliverables
Collections and Categories browsing fixed
Create 3 to 6 real Shopify collections and assign products
Repair the /pages/categories experience, or replace it with a proper collections list page, so it displays real collections with no placeholder blocks
Update navigation so Shop and Products routes correctly to collections on mobile and desktop
Remove fake reviews, compliance and trust
Remove all fake or AI imported reviews, example the 738 reviews claim
Remove any hidden review markup and any JSON-LD review schema if present
Inventory-only selling and Notify Me
If inventory is 0: disable purchase so there is no checkout path and show Notify me when in stock
If inventory is greater than 0: normal Add to Cart and checkout behavior
Prefer a maintainable solution, either Klaviyo Back in Stock or a lightweight custom form
Handoff
Short Loom walkthrough
Written changelog listing theme files edited, settings changed, and any apps installed or removed
Acceptance Criteria, how we will test
Categories and collections page shows real collections with images and correct product counts
No placeholder 0 products blocks unless truly empty
Fake review text and counts removed from the storefront and removed from theme code and schema
Toggling a test variant inventory:
inventory 10: Add to Cart works
inventory 0: Add to Cart disabled and Notify Me appears
Mobile view looks correct and checkout is functional
Phase 2 and ongoing, ad-hoc support
Examples of ongoing tasks:
Product page improvements, sections, FAQs, media placement
Speed optimization and removing unused scripts
TikTok Pixel, Meta Pixel, GA4 troubleshooting and event verification
Klaviyo basics, welcome, abandoned checkout, back-in-stock, post-purchase
n8n workflows, order logs, alerts, tracking updates, daily KPI digest
We prefer someone who can handle small tasks quickly, same day or next day when possible, and communicates clearly.
Requirements
Strong Shopify experience with custom themes, Liquid, JSON templates, and sections
Able to implement and debug inventory and variant logic cleanly
Comfortable with TikTok and Meta tracking on Shopify plus GA4
Experience with n8n automation, webhooks and APIs is a plus
Works in milestones, documents changes, and avoids unnecessary apps and script bloat

Budget
Hourly is fine for ongoing work, but we will begin with a fixed-scope paid trial milestone. Target rate is 20 to 30 per hour depending on experience.
