Strict Requirement: This must be a 100% manual human translation. Any use of AI tools (ChatGPT, DeepL, Google Translate, etc.) will result in immediate disqualification and termination of the contract. We are looking for authentic, fluid English that captures the soul of the original text.
Project Details:
Book 1: Amharic to English – 25,000 words
Book 2: Spanish to English – 71,000 words
How to Apply & Qualify:
To be considered for the shortlist, you must complete a two-part application:
Proposal: Please state your experience with book/literary translation and propose your total budget for the respective word count (specify if you are applying for the Amharic or Spanish project).
The Qualification Sample: I have attached two sample excerpts to this job post. You must translate the sample corresponding to your language and include it in your proposal. This is the primary factor for shortlisting.
Requirements:
Native fluency in Amharic or Spanish.
Expert-level command of English (written).
Proven experience in translating long-form manuscripts or books.
Ability to maintain the author's tone and style throughout the work.
Zero tolerance for AI-generated text.
Deliverables:
A fully translated, proofread, and polished English manuscript in MS Word format.
Contract duration of less than 1 month. with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Proofreading, Translation, English, Content Localization, Writing, Fluent, Native Fluency, Near-Native Fluency, Editorial Translation
