About the Team
Morningstar's Corporate Digital Web Team powers our global public web presence, partnering with marketing, product, design, and technology to create user-centered, high‑performing digital experiences for investors and clients.
About the Role
We're looking for a Digital UX Specialist who's excited to experiment, learn, and shape better website experiences—using real user data to test ideas, refine page patterns, and help bring intuitive, modern digital journeys to life.
This position is based in our Chicago office. We follow a hybrid policy of at least 4 days onsite. Morningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to collaborate in-person each week as we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis.
What you'll do:
Support the design and setup of A/B and multivariate tests on key page types, from hypothesis through to results and recommendations.
Review and align existing pages to new templates and components as part of system and CMS migrations, flagging UX and content issues.
Create simple wireframes or prototypes for page layouts and flows that follow our design system and accessibility standards.
Partner with UX, analytics, marketing, and engineering to interpret data, share insights, and continuously improve the user experience.
What we're looking for:
1–3 years of experience in UX, product design, web design, or a related digital role.
Foundational UX skills: understanding of user journeys, information architecture, and usability best practices.
Some exposure to website experimentation and/or web analytics (e.g., A/B testing concepts, engagement or conversion metrics).
Ability to create clear, simple wireframes using tools like Figma or Sketch.
A self-starter with a genuine curiosity about emerging technologies—especially AI.
Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn in a fast‑moving, experiment‑driven environment.
Nice to have:
Experience with experimentation tools (e.g., Optimizely, Google Optimize, Adobe Target) or CMS‑driven websites.
Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and basic HTML/CSS

In addition, dependent on your department and location of work certain employee accounts must be held with an approved broker (for example all, U.S. employee accounts). If this applies and your account(s) are not with an approved broker, you will be required to move your holdings to an approved broker.
Morningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to collaborate in-person each week as we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis. In most of our locations, our hybrid work model is four days in-office each week. A range of other benefits are also available to enhance flexibility as needs change. No matter where you are, you'll have tools and resources to engage meaningfully with your global colleagues.
