Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking a Material Planner to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton, AB Power Center and offers benefits from day one. 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $ $73000 a year.

What you'll do:

Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, this position is responsible for working closely with stakeholders to maintain adequate inventory levels to ensure a smooth flow of shipped product from the production floor.  This position is also responsible to provide product support (technical, application, etc.) to Marketing/Engineering and Production. Specific product responsibility may include MVA, LVA, MVS, as well as Core and IPA Business Support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Interpret master production schedules and buy‑queue reports for assigned product groups, and plan, order, and expedite inventory requirements accordingly.
  • Create and maintain Purchase Orders for AMO (Advance Material Order) for EPC, as well as materials required for Core and IPA business.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage reorder points to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
  • Set up and manage Kanban and Point-of-Use (POU) inventory items for production lines.
  • Manage disposition of non‑conforming inventory and E&O (Excess and Obsolete) materials.
  • Maintain Purchase Order integrity in Oracle through ongoing PO maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Finance/AP to resolve supplier-related purchase order holds.
  • Participate in supplier evaluations and certification reviews.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to complete item master setup in Oracle.
  • Prepare and maintain material planning and forecasting reports, as required.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support business-related assessments for the facility.
  • Participate in month‑end reporting for finance and supply chain functions.
  • Provide leadership in implementing the Eaton Lean Six Sigma System (ELSS) and the Eaton Quality System (EQS).
  • Adhere to ISO 9000 quality procedures and work instructions; actively engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate and promote Eaton's Values and Philosophy Statements.
  • Provide leadership in Eaton's MESH (Management System for Environment, Health, Safety, and Security). Maintain a strong commitment to pollution prevention and environmental protection by following ISO 14000 procedures, work instructions, and other operational controls.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:


•    Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.


•    Minimum two (2) years experience in inventory management in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:


•   Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management.


•   PMAC/ APICS Certification (or working towards completion)


•   Experience with ERP/ MRP systems
•   Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas; macros preferred).
•   Knowledge of quality and safety standards within manufacturing environments.

You are successful in this role when you demonstrate strong analytical aptitude and complex problem‑solving skills, paired with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. You bring intermediate proficiency in MS Office and ideally possess a solid understanding of Oracle, Vista, Query, Markview, Kanban inventory systems, and Bills of Materials. Your working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes further strengthens your ability to streamline operations and contribute effectively to continuous improvement initiatives.
