Job Title: Border Protection Specialist

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship status or violations.

The Border Protection Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding national borders. This position is part of the workforce under U.S. Customs and Border Protection, engaging in various activities to protect national security. These include detecting and apprehending undocumented non-citizens at or near borders through covert surveillance during night operations, as well as performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, transportation checks and patrolling international boundaries using government assets such as vehicles horses vessels watercraft off-road vehicles ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles.
To ensure effective communication with diverse populations border agents receive Spanish language training along with English proficiency for law enforcement techniques USBP specific procedures driver training physical techniques firearms handling other areas The specialists undergo rigorous training including completing six months at the U SBorderPatrolAcademy Artesia New Mexico following hiring for instruction In addition to rigorous training they are also skilled professionals equipped with necessary tools required by their job function .
