The Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) plays a critical role in enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations. They facilitate legitimate trade and travel while preventing illicit activity through inspections of individuals and conveyances. Determining admissibility for entry into the United States is also a key responsibility.
Duty Locations - Incentives Available
You will be assigned to one of several mission-critical locations across the country. Some duty locations offer recruitment incentives for newly appointed CBPOs. These incentives include up to $15,000 per year for three years or four years depending on location.
An annual base salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies from $61,111 to $124,443 per year at grade level GS-9.
