We are seeking experienced Senior IP Project Engineers with strong data center and POP migration experience to support large-scale network build, exit, and transformation programs. This role requires the ability to design, plan, and implement complex infrastructure migrations within ISP-grade environments.
The ideal candidate will have broad technical depth across IP, transport, and multi-vendor platforms, and must be comfortable working across diverse technologies in long-term transformation initiatives. The ability to quickly learn unfamiliar platforms and adapt to evolving technical environments is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, plan, and execute DC/POP migrations, infrastructure exits, and new build implementations
* Develop migration strategies covering both physical and logical transition plans
* Produce High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation
* Design and implement audit strategies at logical and physical circuit levels
* Correlate audit findings to support accurate capacity planning and migration strategy development
* Build and configure transport and IP infrastructure environments
* Interrogate, collect, and analyze data from NMS systems, Element Managers, and network devices
* Collaborate with project management teams to build, track, and maintain detailed project timelines
* Support troubleshooting during migrations and maintain composure during technical incidents
* Maintain high-quality documentation and provide clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Technical Skills
Core Network Knowledge
* IP fundamentals: TCP, UDP, QoS
* Routing protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, BGP
* MPLS/IP technologies: LDP, RSVP, RSVP-TE, MP-BGP, VPLS, L2VPN, IPVPN
* LAN protocols: STP, RSTP, 802.1x, ISL, HSRP, VRRP, MC-LAG
* Security technologies: IPSec VPNs, Firewalls
* Voice integration (SIP and legacy platforms)
Engineering Capabilities
* Design and execution of migration and build programs
* Capacity planning and access vendor/tail understanding
* Circuit-level audit and reconciliation
* Logical and physical topology design
* Production-ready documentation skills
* Strong time management and stakeholder coordination skills
Desired Product Experience
Experience with one or more of the following platforms:
* Nokia (77X0 SR series)
* Cisco (7600, 4900, 3600, ASR9K)
* Fortinet (5xxx series)
* ADVA (FSP series)
* Juniper (EX, M, MX platforms)
* Ciena (5164, 6500 series)
Education & Experience
* 7+ years of experience in telecommunications or IT infrastructure
* Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale build or migration programs
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
* Advanced IP certification preferred (CCNP, CCDP, CCDE, CCIE, or equivalent vendor certifications)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
