About the Role
ISL's Saskatoon team currently leads and supports transportation planning, design and construction projects in both the Saskatoon and Regina regions of the province.
Transportation master plans
Traffic analysis and modelling
Functional planning studies
Active transportation and transit-supportive infrastructure
Intersections and interchanges
Grades separations
Construction contract administration services
Preliminary and construction survey
As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to multiple projects at once, helping to shape growing communities and enhance local infrastructure. You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of projects – being involved in the full project life-cycle, from planning and data collection to detailed design and construction support.
We're looking for someone who enjoys building strong working relationships with a wide range of partners involved in infrastructure projects, and who is excited to be part of a multidisciplinary organization. You're naturally proactive—able to anticipate challenges and identify risks before they arise. At this stage in your career, you're eager to grow with a collaborative team and are motivated by technical excellence.
In this role your primary responsibilities would include:
Designing and drafting to prepare engineering drawings and report exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D, or ESRI
Preparing construction quantity take-offs and cost estimates
Applying your skills and education to perform calculations, undertake modelling, and prepare engineering designs or other deliverables required for our projects
Potential to complete operational analysis of intersections and preparing engineering design solutions to improve safety and traffic flow using Cap-X or Synchro
Writing memos, reports, proposals or other engineering documents
Preparing contract documents and specifications, and administering tender processes 
Providing contract administration or on-site inspection support for transportation infrastructure during the construction season, for projects generally located in the Saskatoon region
Providing project management support including preparing, monitoring and documenting: schedules, tasks, budget, tasks, internal / external project meetings and the like
Observing safe work practices to protect the health and safety of yourself, co-workers, and others when on active construction sites
Interacting effectively and professionally with client representatives, contractors, project stakeholders, co-workers and industry peers, and providing them with excellent service and timely responses

Your resume should show us:
Graduation from a Civil Engineering (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) program and eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with APEGS
4+ years of relevant work experience in areas such as construction, consulting, and/or regulatory approvals within the transportation sector.
Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Excel
Working knowledge of roadway, site grading and/or utility servicing design
Experience writing technical reports and memos
Experience in field investigation and site inspections
Experience in large and small-scale projects
Bonus points for:
Topographic and survey layout experience
Past experience using technology and innovation tools in your work
