This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Customs and Border Protection Officer. As a CBPO, you will play a vital role in protecting the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
- Facilitate the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
- Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
- Determine the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
- Prevent the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and the smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband.
Pursuant to Departmental Regulations (5 CFR Part 575), newly appointed CBPOs (as defined) are offered up to $15,K or four years service contract at various locations. Note:GS-5 level officers can earn annual salaries ranging from$40, 52to$109, 52 year , depending on locality pay . Successful candidates should demonstrate good interpersonal skills; be able to communicate effectively with diverse groups such as international visitors arriving USA; follow federal rules;
