Compensation: $73,000 to $105,000 annually

About The Role
We're seeking an Environmental Manager to lead environmental performance and compliance for our grain and oilseed processing facility in Windsor, Ontario, as well as two country grain elevators. This role serves as the senior environmental authority for the site, responsible for strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement aligned with ADM's global environmental standards.
The Environmental Manager will drive environmental excellence through a strong culture of continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with corporate, provincial, and federal requirements while proactively identifying risks and opportunities. This role provides both technical expertise and leadership to advance ADM's environmental objectives and strengthen the site's Environmental Management System (EMS).
What You'll Do
Act as the primary environmental leader and subject matter expert for the Windsor facility and two country grain elevators
Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of ADM's environmental programs, standards, and management systems
Establish, monitor, and enhance environmental performance metrics, ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory expectations
Drive a sustainable culture of continuous environmental improvement across operations
Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, permits, approvals, and corporate requirements
Lead environmental permitting, approvals, regulatory negotiations, and interactions with government authorities
Proactively assess upcoming legislation and regulatory changes, developing implementation strategies
Oversee environmental reporting requirements (e.g., NPRI, E2, GHG, carbon pricing)
Lead root cause analyses, corrective and preventive actions for environmental incidents or non-compliances
Participate in and lead environmental audits, assessments, and due diligence activities
Represent ADM in trade associations, industry forums, and government working groups
Provide leadership, coaching, and training to site personnel to build environmental awareness and capability
Maintain strong communication with site and regional leadership regarding environmental performance, risks, and opportunities
Manage environmental priorities under pressure with sound judgment, accountability, and self-direction
Provide after-hours environmental support as required for emergencies or operational needs
Perform other environmental leadership duties as assigned
What You Bring
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
Proven leadership, influence, and change management capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Strong project and program management skills
Minimum 5 years of progressive environmental experience, preferably in an industrial or process-based environment
Demonstrated ability to lead environmental programs and influence operational decision-making
Ability to work in varied environments including indoors/outdoors, hot/cold conditions, confined spaces, climbing, kneeling, and standing as required
Proficiency in English
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field preferred
Professional environmental designation (e.g., EP, P.Eng., PMP) considered an asset
Other Requirements
Experience or working knowledge of:
Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
Air and noise permitting (ECA, EASR, approvals)
Environmental compliance reporting (NPRI, E2)
Greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and carbon pricing calculations
Waste characterization, TDG requirements, and beneficial reuse strategies
Land use planning and environmental risk assessment
Performance Excellence, Lean, or Continuous Improvement methodologies
Regulatory negotiations and agency engagement
