Position Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of research and project‑related activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the design and conduct of knowledge syntheses, including systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews, and documentary analyses.

  • Contributing to the preparation of grant applications.

  • Completing IRB documentation (e.g., drafting research protocols) and facilitating the ethics submission process.

  • Recruiting study participants.

  • Collecting data through questionnaires and interviews.

  • Developing measurement instruments.

  • Facilitating participant interviews, conducted via VoIP platforms (e.g., Zoom, Cisco Webex) or in person.

  • Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as preparing meeting minutes.

  • Coordinating research project activities and participating in team meetings.

  • Contributing to the qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

  • Supporting knowledge mobilization activities (e.g., reports, peer‑reviewed manuscripts, infographics).

  • Additional related duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

Academic level: Minimum of PhD degree in dentistry or in a related field (e.g. health and social services, public health, social sciences)

  • Five years of experience in the role of research assistant

  • Demonstrate an interest in dental research

  • Knowledge of various qualitative quantitative study designs

  • Solid experience with qualitative analysis methodologies is required.

  • Technology skills: Office suite, reference management software, and qualitative and quantitative analysis software (e.g. EndNote, NVivo/QDA MINER, SPSS, Covidence, or other data management and analysis software)

  • Language skills: Bilingual French-English, oral and written

  • The successful candidate must have several personal skills: Rigor, teamwork, excellent adaptability and analytical skills, motivated and earning to learn, sense of responsibility, initiative, communication skills, management of priorities and autonomy.

OTHER QUALIFYING SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience in dental research

  • knowledge of the dental field desirable

  • Experience in knowledge mobilization

  • At least one year' experience in research including team coordination, budgetary follow-up of research grants

  • Experience in knowledge dissemination
