The OpportunityWe're looking for a strategic and data‑driven leader to strengthen the way our Commercial Insurance business uses operational insights, performance metrics, and workflow optimization to deliver exceptional customer and broker outcomes.
In this role, you will modernize how we leverage Management Information (MI), improve underwriting workflows, and support leaders across Aviva Business Insurance in making clearer, smarter, insight‑driven decisions. You will partner with senior leaders, lead cross‑functional problem solving, and drive operational excellence across the organization.
What you'll doOperational Strategy & Optimization
Lead the execution of operational optimization initiatives aligned with business and strategic priorities.
Identify, prioritize, and solve systemic workflow issues impacting customer and broker experience.
Drive the development of efficient processes, ways of working, and measurement practices.
Insights, Data & Reporting
Strengthen organizational capability to use MI, performance insights, and operational data to inform decisions.
Improve accessibility, usability, and adoption of operational insights through Qlik and other BI tools.
Translate data into actionable insights supporting underwriting, operational leaders, and strategic roadmaps.
Standardize reporting practices across Commercial Insurance to support governance, workflow optimization, and resource planning.
Leadership, Coaching & Stakeholder Engagement
Influence senior leaders (AVP+) and support execution across complex operational environments.
Coach teams and leaders on data literacy, insight interpretation, and performance‑driven action planning.
Maintain strong stakeholder engagement across Underwriting, Central Operations, Strategy, Enablement, Finance, IT, and Data teams.
Change Delivery & Technology Enablement
Support operational readiness and minimize business disruption during major initiatives.
Optimize and sustain key operational technologies introduced through the Operational Effectiveness team.
Support automation, upskilling programs, and underwriting modernization work using insight‑driven validation and opportunity sizing.
5+ years in operations, transformation, or optimization roles
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
CIP/FCIP or analytics‑related training (assets)
Experience using MI, performance insights, or BI tools (Qlik, PowerQuery)
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills
Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive change
Strong analytical capability and comfort with operational data
Solid understanding of underwriting workflows and operational processes
Excellent problem‑solving, prioritization, and project management skills
Ability to coach teams in data literacy and performance management
High professionalism, urgency, and ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments
•The salary band for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
