Background
Our academy maintains a large library of educational videos. Currently, each video must be manually uploaded to a transcription platform (currently TurboScribe), transcribed, exported as a VTT subtitle file, and stored in a folder alongside the original video file.
This process is repetitive and time-consuming, and we are seeking to fully or partially automate it.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement an automated workflow for video transcription processing
* Upload video files to a transcription service via API or automation
* Trigger transcription jobs and monitor their completion
* Export generated subtitles in VTT format
* Automatically place the VTT file in the same directory as the source video
* Handle errors, retries, and logging
Requirements
* Strong programming experience (Python, , or similar)
* Experience building automation pipelines or workflow tools
* Familiarity with APIs, file systems, and background processing
* Experience with cloud storage or batch processing workflows
* Ability to design reliable and maintainable automation systems
Nice to Have
* Experience with transcription or media-processing workflows
* Experience with tools like TurboScribe or similar speech-to-text platforms
* Knowledge of video formats and subtitle standards (VTT/SRT)
Project Scope
* Project-based engagement (with potential for ongoing work)

* Flexible implementation approach as long as reliability and scalability are achieved
Goal
Deliver a stable automation system that minimizes manual handling and allows large volumes of videos to be processed efficiently.
Contract duration of less than 1 month. with 30 hours per week.
