What We Need
We're looking for a dynamic and disciplined Business Development Executive that can provide leadership, direction, and support to Telesat Lightspeed's aviation business.
The Business Development Executive Aviation, Asia will develop and execute the Business Development and Sales Strategy for Telesat Lightspeed LEO In Flight Connectivity (IFC) services in Asia. The position is based in Singapore or remote in Asia.
This position reports to the Vice President, Aviation and is responsible for aligning Telesat Lightspeed business development objectives with the company's aviation business strategy and business plan.
What You'll Do- Proactively evangelize Telesat Lightspeed with airlines in Asia and OEMs representatives in the region. Create momentum at decision making level (C-suite, Customer Experience/Technology/Planning heads), influence long-term network strategy and connectivity requirements of prospects.
- Support Distribution channels throughout their sales cycle with the airlines in the region, from early discussions to closing.
- Support Telesat regional sales teams with deep market expertise in their efforts with Aviation accounts in their respective regions. Develop and implement go-to-market initiatives with the sales team.
- Achieve and exceed a set of contractual objectives.
- Develop Business Development strategies and airlines specific account plans.
- Direct the activities of Customer Focused Teams (multi-functional teams) to meet or exceed customer needs, develop customer specific offers with channel partners, discuss and analyze airlines and industry trends and opportunities, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, operations, legal, etc.) to address customer needs, develop customer specific offers and resolve customer issues.
- Lead proposal development in response to customer inquiries and proactive discussions.
- Use CRM tools to manage customer relationships, track opportunities, and monitor pipeline progression.
- Provide periodic reports and market insights to senior management on customer and industry activities and strategic developments.
- Solid knowledge of the In-Flight Connectivity market and its players in Asia including airlines, connectivity providers, OEMs and integrators.
- Minimum 5 years In Flight Connectivity Business Development and Strategic/consultative Sales experience. Understanding of IFC competitive landscape.
- Technical knowledge of satellite communications and/or experience with value added Aviation services other than IFC a plus.
- Ability to travel to attend customer meetings and events across Asia.
- Comfortable operating at a senior (C-Level) level.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Fluency in English a must. Fluency in one or more Asian languages preferred.
- Must be a self-starter, energetic, commercially astute and a strong team player. Excellent communication skills.
- Track record of complete Business Development skills, from development of relationships and qualified funnel to negotiation and closing and complex sales, having consistently exceeded objectives.
