Role: Operations Manager
Shift: pm – 8:00pm Monday – Friday. Occasionally may be required to work 8:30am – 5:30pm support business needs.
Location: Huronia Road, Barrie, ON
Reporting to the Business Owner, the Operations Manager will be responsible for managing cleaning operations and staff assigned to client sites.
Job Description
· Oversee daily cleaning operations across multiple job sites.
· Manage work projects and assign crews/staff as required
· Ensure periodic cleaning schedule is adhered to by assigned staff and find additional/replacement staff to work on those projects if necessary
· Support, coach and enforce standards and policies amongst staff.
· Conduct quality checks and ensure service standards are met.
· Handle client communication and resolve issues promptly.
· Manage Express Time which is our time keeping and scheduling system.
· Input or update customer & employee information into our Customer Management Systems (CMS). (QuickBooks, Sales Force, Express Time, Outlook etc…)
· Updating tracking and log sheets as required for effective communication.
· Assist office staff as required with various tasks.
· Prep supplies and handle laundry for the production teams.
· Fill supply orders and deliver to accounts proactively as needed.
· Track supplies, equipment needs and site readiness.
· Keep track of inventory on hand as well as ensure stock areas are kept clean, tidy and orderly.
· Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
· Reporting daily progress, challenges and staffing updates to senior management/owners.
· Creation and distribute weekly schedules.
· Must be willing to work out in the field in the event of staff shortage or scheduling conflicts.
Qualifications
Experience in operations, facilities, cleaning services, or a related field
Strong leadership and team‑management skills
Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities
Complete work with a sense of urgency.
Ability to take initiative.
Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
Comfortable using scheduling tools, mobile apps, or basic office software
Valid driver's license
Must be proficient with Microsoft programs. (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Work Setting
· Office building, factory, medical.
Education & Experience
· years of experience in cleaning services, facilities management, janitorial supervisor or similar operational role.
· Proven experience supervising teams, managing schedules and coordinating field staff.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Valid Ontario drivers license.
Assets
· Post secondary education in business administration, operations management, hospitality or other related field considered a strong asset.
· Additional Training or certifications in leadership, workplace safety or facilities management.
Additional Requirement
Successful candidate must be willing to go out in the field with trainers or supervisors to gain knowledge of the business and experience what our front line workers do. This would be at a minimum of five evening shifts (3pm – 11pm) scheduled during the first two - three weeks of employment.
