Border Protector

As a Border Patrol Agent, you will be an integral part of our nation's efforts to protect its borders and safeguard the American people. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with highly trained professionals who embody camaraderie, pride, and purpose in their daily mission.

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws; inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the border by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry; developing contact with informants

You will need one year of general work experience that demonstrates your ability to make sound decisions under pressure. You must also be able to learn regulations quickly through classroom training or on-the-job instruction.

You can qualify for this position at GL-5 level if you possess one of these options:

1. A bachelor’s degree OR full four-year course study leading to a bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university; OR
2. A combination general work experience AND successfully completed college education calculated based on resume submitted with application.
