Customs and Border Protection Officer Job Description

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking highly skilled and dedicated professionals to join its team as Customs and Border Protection Officers. As a CBPO, you will play a vital role in enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws, while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel.

• Key Responsibilities:
  
  
  • Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws at ports of entry;
  
  
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections performed;
  
  
  • Detect smuggling attempts by inspecting vehicles for concealed contraband or fugitives;
  
  
  • Use knowledge of regulations to determine admissibility status in order to protect public safety & national security.   

• Minimum three (3) years general work experience demonstrating ability to meet people needs with law enforcement proficiency.
OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
OR Combination completed college education AND experience.
