Border Patrol Agent Job Description

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join their elite team as Border Patrol Agents. As a key member of the Federal Law Enforcement profession, you will be responsible for protecting America's borders while ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.


• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations.


• Interpreting physical evidence such as tracks, marks, etc., to identify illegal entry points.
