Join our growing logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as a Material Handler! We are seeking dedicated individuals to manage the flow of goods within our facility. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely from receiving to storage, and then to shipping areas. This position requires a proactive approach, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move pallets, boxes, and other materials. You will also be involved in loading and unloading trucks, organizing warehouse stock, and assisting with inventory management tasks. Accurate documentation of material movement and adherence to established procedures are vital. We expect all team members to follow strict safety protocols, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and injuries. Your ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and maintain a clean and organized workspace will contribute significantly to our operational success. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Organize and arrange inventory within the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment is required.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to regulations.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE.
