We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team in San Francisco, California! This critical role is responsible for managing the inbound flow of goods, ensuring all incoming inventory is accurately documented, inspected, and processed. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and other documentation. Your accuracy and organizational skills are essential for maintaining inventory integrity and supporting our overall logistics operations. We are committed to maintaining a safe work environment, and adherence to all Safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is strictly enforced. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation.
- Inspect shipments for damage and shortages, reporting discrepancies promptly.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received items as required.
- Stage incoming goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and stock counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal departments, and carriers.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse receiving role.
- Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Knowledge of Safety best practices in a warehouse environment, including the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
