We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our operations in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating various types of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our warehouse. This role is critical to maintaining the efficiency and safety of our logistics operations. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate product handling.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) safely and efficiently to transport goods.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with precision.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts, reporting any issues.
- Move pallets of inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and ensure accurate record-keeping within the WMS.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company policies.
- Strictly follow all Safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational targets and contribute to smooth logistics flow.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Execute material handling tasks that are integral to the logistics process.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform consistent Lifting, often up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Excellent knowledge of forklift Safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and basic computer systems.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including potential overtime.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
