We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our innovative team in Portland, Oregon. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various equipment within our state-of-the-art logistics facility. Your expertise will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse machinery, contributing directly to our operational success. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to safety protocols. You will work closely with the operations team to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. A thorough understanding of industrial equipment and safety standards is crucial for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on warehouse equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, palletizers, and other machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities in the CMMS.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Operate various hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Adhere to safe lifting and material handling procedures.
- Support the logistics team by ensuring equipment reliability and availability.
- Collaborate with other departments to address equipment needs and operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations, including lock-out/tag-out.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
