We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, pallet jacks, and counterbalance forklifts, in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving materials to and from storage areas, and ensuring accurate inventory placement. Adherence to all safety protocols and company policies is paramount. Strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. You will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times and participate in regular safety training. This position involves significant physical exertion, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes is a plus. Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport raw materials to production areas and finished goods to shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
- Meet productivity targets while maintaining quality standards.
