We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our operations in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and entering receiving data into our system. Maintaining a safe and organized receiving area is crucial. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth material flow and contribute to the overall success of our logistics operations. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to Safety are essential. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for damage or discrepancies.
- Document all receiving activities and update inventory records promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding shipment issues.
- Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks to move received goods.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety protocols and wear required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related logistics role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Understanding of Safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
