The role involves enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws, facilitating trade and travel, conducting inspections, determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States, preventing illegal entry of contraband items, performing physical searches on conveyances or personnel that may be transporting prohibited goods,
determining whether information gathered during routine duties suggests further investigation may warrant consideration by higher authority.
