About the Role As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our nation by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. Your work will be focused on facilitating legitimate trade and travel while preventing illicit activity.
Key Responsibilities: • Enforce regulations related to importing, exporting, and international shipping. • Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances to ensure compliance with laws. • Utilize intelligence techniques to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws.
Skills & Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience or meet the education requirements outlined below: Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes: • Detaining suspected violators using proper law enforcement methods. • Enforcing laws relating to importing/exporting merchandise/individuals into/from the U.S., Guam/Puerto Rico/U.S.V.I.. eations:
  • Ability to make rapid judgments & decisions regarding application/enforcement/import/export regulations.
