Telecommunications Network Design Engineer We are on the lookout for a skilled professional to join our long-term project dedicated to innovative telecommunications network design. This position will require working on-site in Melbourne, FL, with competitive compensation for non-local candidates. As a crucial member of our team, you will evaluate, plan, and implement forward-thinking telecommunications solutions tailored for mission-critical applications. Be part of the exciting transition from legacy copper systems to advanced technologies, working to create scalable and optimized telecommunications architectures and documenting solutions that provide vital support for engineering and NOC operations. Key Responsibilities: Assess and design telecommunications solutions to fulfill network infrastructure and service needs. Develop modern telco services that effectively replace legacy copper-based systems with scalable options. Implement network solutions that correspond with evolving customer demands and strategic objectives. Establish best practices for network design, capacity planning, and service continuity in mission-critical environments. Manage the telecommunications design release lifecycle to guarantee timely project execution and alignment with milestones. Engage in after-action reviews and tackle technical challenges that arise during implementation. Create and maintain detailed documentation for engineering and NOC teams. Identify potential areas for automation and optimization within the network. Oversee the telecommunications design release workflow, ensuring adherence to the implementation schedule. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field. At least 4 years of experience in WAN telecommunications networks, or 2 years with an Associate's Degree combined with 8 years of relevant experience. Self-driven individual with the capability to develop comprehensive action plans. Able to excel in a collaborative team setting while remaining self-directed. Strong project management capabilities, ensuring deadline adherence. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with engineering schematics and technical documentation. Understanding of the telecommunications industry, including carrier services and IP technologies such as Pseudo Wire and Ethernet switching. Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Clearance security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing and implementing technologies like SONET, Carrier Ethernet, and LTE. Proven ability to design, implement, and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures. Familiarity with telecommunications carrier ordering systems and procedures. Knowledge of WAN/LAN, TDM, voice switching systems, TCP/IP, and associated routing protocols. Experience working with network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Ciena. Experience with database modeling tools like MetaSolv.
