Chemetics Inc. (Worley Group) is a diversified technology company that provides design and engineering solutions to the chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide, and sulphuric acid industries worldwide. We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineering Intern. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineering intern is responsible for assisting engineers with process design of projects and proposals in accordance with technology design standards or "understood" acceptable practices. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in a wide range of process engineering activities.
Responsibilities
Assist engineers in project and proposal process design.
Assist engineers with conducting feasibility studies or plant audits.
Assist in development of standards and process tools.
Periodic assistance with technology development in our nearby laboratory facility may also be required.
Hours Of Work
The standard hours of work at Chemetics are 37.5 per week with 8.25 hours per day Monday to Thursday (8AM to 5PM) and a half day Friday. These hours can be adjusted to suit the candidate, provided the core hours of 9AM to 4PM from Monday to Thursday are met. This is to be available for consultation and to facilitate meetings. Work from home is also possible with an expected minimum 2 days in office to interact with colleagues, obtain mentorship, learn more about the company / technologies, and build relationships.

Technical and Industry Experience:
Able to work independently while under supervision.
Enjoys a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work within a team and interact with other departments.
Required
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Completion of 3rd year Chemical or Chemical & Biological Engineering undergraduate program.
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Aspen).
An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
Excellent organizational skills.
For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $51k to $75k CAD. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
