About The Internship
Are you ready to kickstart your IT career while supporting meaningful work for the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation)? As our Desktop & Intranet Support Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience providing technical assistance, supporting end-users, and helping maintain our SharePoint-based intranet. This internship offers the opportunity to develop real-world IT skills, grow your knowledge of enterprise systems, and support technology that strengthens Nation-wide operations. You'll work closely with the IT Support Team, assisting with hardware/software troubleshooting, account administration, and intranet content updates, all while learning in a supportive team environment.
What You Bring
- Demonstrates ability to learn quickly electronic systems and software.
- Successfully work on tickets assigned to them in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to effectively work independently, as well as collaboratively with the team on tickets and requests.
- Strong technical aptitude with interest in IT support, desktop administration, and enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Windows OS).
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organized, proactive, and eager to learn new systems and technologies.
- Interest in pursuing a career in IT support, systems administration, or digital workplace technology.
- Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.
- Interest in supporting Indigenous workforce development and community-centered service delivery
Salary: $ 27.05 per hour.
