Position Overview
As an EPC Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful execution of complex industrial projects by overseeing both the technical and administrative aspects of construction. You will lead a team of field and cost engineers, ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
This role requires strong interpersonal and information management skills, as you will serve as the primary liaison between the construction manager and project controls, facilitating accurate reporting of cost, revenue, and cash flow. District Overview
Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. We conduct our business through a variety of commercial contract styles including full turnkey, EPC, design build, T&M and conventional discipline packages. We have always been a strong proponent of "partnering", working in collaboration with owners, major equipment suppliers and engineers at the early stages of the project development phase to allow for a more cost-effective execution strategy for the project. Location
This position is based in the U.S.A. and requires applicants to be eligible to work in the U.S. or to apply for and obtain a TN visa. U.S. immigration requires proof of Canadian citizenship and successful completion of a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
This role may involve either a fly-in/fly-out arrangement on a potential 10/4 schedule or a temporary relocation for approximately 1 to 2 years, depending on project needs and individual circumstances.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage project scheduling and planning activities
Oversee revenue forecasting, cost tracking, and cash flow analysis
Coordinate temporary works engineering and permanent design quality control
Support project closeout processes and documentation
Maintain strong client relationships and represent the project team professionally
Assist in operations planning and execution strategies
Administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and performance
Mentor and develop junior engineers and field staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Engineering
Minimum 8+ years of experience in construction or engineering, preferably within EPC environments
Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
Ability to travel and relocate as needed based on project requirements
Strong ability to read, interpret, and identify discrepancies in engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Demonstrated proficiency in project planning, cost control, and schedule management
Highly motivated with a strong sense of initiative and a commitment to excellence
Strong work ethic and dedication to delivering high-quality results
Deep commitment to safety, with the ability to promote a culture where nobody gets hurt
