Key Responsibilities
Acting as a highway engineer for MTO preliminary and detail design transportation projects.
Providing technical guidance, support, and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff working on your projects.
Preparing designs for highway facilities ranging from freeways, urban and rural multi-lane and two-lane facilities, interchanges, and intersections.
Preparing technicalreports, contract documents, design drawings, quantity estimates, and cost estimates.
Creating plans, profiles, and design quantities inCivil 3D/InRoads/Open Roads Designformat.
Completing initial siteinspections/field work for design assignments.
Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Keeping current on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/civil 3D/Microstation/InRoads/Open Roads Designin consultation with senior CAD staff.

University degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
10+ years of progressive-related experience in highway design, including MTO highway design.
Developed an excellent reputation working with MTO.
Experienced with highway engineering and has worked in or has an understanding of the consulting engineering environment.
Knowledge of highway engineering, including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures.
Demonstrated experience in detail design work with proven design capabilities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
