Overview
- I am building a large network of niche WooCommerce stores across 300+ exact match domains using WordPress Multisite with domain mapping, a shared base theme, and a repeatable deployment process.
- I need an experienced developer to design the right multisite architecture, set it up properly, and create a scalable store template we can replicate in batches.
Goal of this project
Create one or several WordPress Multisite networks and map many separate domains to subsites.
- Standardize a lightweight WooCommerce setup so new stores can be launched quickly.
- Prepare the setup to connect many WooCommerce stores into one AutoDS account for dropshipping automation.
Scope and deliverables
Architecture and setup
Recommend the best structure, for example one large multisite or several networks for performance and risk management.
- Set up WordPress Multisite, domain mapping for separate domains, and a staging to production workflow.
- Configure a Cloudflare friendly DNS approach and advise how to group domains across hosts.
Base store template
Build a reusable WooCommerce child theme or block theme based on a reference design that I will provide.
- Create templates for homepage, category or collection pages, product pages, content pages, and legal pages.
- Make it easy to spin up a new site with the same baseline settings in minutes, including menus, footer, core pages, and plugin settings.
Core plugins and configuration
Configure an SEO plugin with sensible templates, schema basics, and sitemap controls.
- Set up caching and performance suitable for multisite and WooCommerce without plugin bloat.
- Implement a basic security baseline, backups strategy, and sensible roles and permissions.
Ecommerce automation readiness
Configure WooCommerce in a way that is compatible with connecting many stores to one AutoDS account.
- Advise on best practices for naming and structuring many stores inside AutoDS and handling per store rules.
Phased approach
Phase 1
Build one pilot network and launch 3 to 5 stores from end to end.
- Prove that the template, performance, and deployment process work.
Phase 2
Define a repeatable rollout process so we can launch new domains in batches, for example 5 to 10 per day or 10 to 20 per sprint.
- Document exactly how to go from new domain to live store using your template.
Phase 3
Help scale the system to the full domain list with monitoring and a maintenance plan.
- Hand over clear documentation my brother and VAs can follow.
What I will provide
A list of domains and how they are grouped by niche and location.
- A reference theme and design direction that my brother will prepare.
- SOPs for how content and products will be added later by VAs and AutoDS.
What I need from you
Proven experience with WordPress Multisite and domain mapping across many sites, not just a couple of blogs.
- Strong WooCommerce experience including performance tuning and database considerations.
- Ability to design repeatable deployments using export or import of settings, starter sites, or scripts.
- Clear communication and solid documentation so non developers can operate the system after setup.
Nice to have
- Experience with high volume multi store dropshipping setups and AutoDS or similar tools.
- Experience splitting multisite networks across multiple servers or hosts for reliability and performance.
How to apply
- Share two or three examples of WordPress Multisite projects with domain mapped sites and roughly how many sites were involved.
- Briefly explain how you would structure hosting and networks for 300 mapped domains.
- Outline your high level plan and timeline for delivering Phase 1, including the pilot network and first 3 to 5 stores.
- Include your preferred hourly rate and an estimated fixed price for Phase 1.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 40 hours per week.
