We're hiring an advanced-level web developer to help us build and scale beautiful, high-performing Shopify experiences across JOYC and TINKR. This role is a mix of new builds (web apps + custom Shopify features) and ongoing site ownership (updates, fixes, CRO, performance).
What you'll do
Own frontend development across our Shopify stores (custom sections, templates, landing pages, and styling)
Build new web apps / interactive site experiences that improve conversion and customer experience
Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve our existing JOYC + TINKR websites (bugs, UI issues, performance, responsiveness)
Partner with growth/marketing to execute CRO initiatives: PDP improvements, bundles/upsells, checkout optimizations, A/B testing support, speed improvements
Implement and manage Shopify apps (install, configure, customize, and ensure clean performance)
Support backend ops/fulfillment workflows when needed (a plus if you've worked with 3PLs, shipping rules, inventory logic, multi-location fulfillment)
Must-have skills
Expert frontend chops: HTML/CSS/JS + modern styling systems, strong attention to detail
Deep Shopify experience: Liquid, theme customization, Online Store 2.0
Strong CRO instincts: performance, UX, accessibility, speed, and mobile-first best practices
Comfortable working fast without breaking things (clean code, QA mindset)
Huge plus
Experience with newer Shopify capabilities: Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, Theme App Extensions, Metaobjects, Markets
Familiarity with CRO/analytics tools (GA4, heatmaps, user recordings, etc.)
Fulfillment/back-office understanding (3PL flows, inventory, shipping logic, returns tools)
What success looks like
Faster site, cleaner UI, fewer bugs, higher conversion
Ability to ship improvements weekly (not "big redesigns once a quarter")
Proactive recommendations on modern DTC UX patterns and best-in-class brand experiences
Project details
Ongoing, long-term relationship preferred
We move quickly and value clear communication + ownership
Start with a paid test project (small scope) and expand from there
