The OpportunityThe position of Coordinator, Events & Community Engagement is responsible for supporting the Event team to deliver planning and organization of Foundation events throughout the year. The incumbent must have direct event experience, be well organized, have high attention to detail, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility.
The Role:Reporting to the Manager, Events & Community Engagement, the Coordinator, Events & Community Engagement is a role that has direct impact on fundraising success by providing an excellent event experience for all attendees, donors and invited guests
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently plan and manage the Foundation's annual internal Stewardship & Cultivation events (virtual and in person)
- Liaise and negotiate with external vendors and suppliers
- Create and manage documents to support the successful delivery of Stewardship & Cultivation events including planning timelines, budget tracking and reconciliation reports
- Build detailed workback schedules and monitor progress to ensure projects are tracking against deliverables
- Embrace and consistently enact organizational values of respect, caring, integrity and partnership, supported by being authentic and accountable
Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide Support and execution assistance in areas as assigned for larger Fundraising events such as Women for Women's and The Shopper Drug Mart Run for Women
- Act as the lead on key operational areas as assigned that support the successful delivery of these larger Fundraising events
- Work collaboratively with Foundation team members to meet event delivery needs
- Liaise directly with hospital facilities staff to ensure internal event set up is exact
- Provide insight and feedback on event related areas to continually improve delivery for donors and prospects
- Perform other duties assigned
Specific to the delivery of Foundation events:
- May be responsible for setup and strike of furniture and equipment for meeting and events, which may require lifting of heavy objects at times
- Some evening and weekend work is required
- Access to a vehicle is preferable
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in event planning, public relations or a relevant field
- 2+ years of direct event experience
- Experience assisting with the delivery of both virtual and in-person events
- Demonstrated Knowledge of online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, NXT, Raisin or Cvent
- Creative and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience in the areas of customer service, organizational skills, and accuracy
- Experience in a charitable environment is preferable
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 eligibility for merit pay and comprehensive benefits including Healthcare Ontario Pension Plan enrollment
