Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman for our facility located in Windsor, Ontario. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop and revise mechanical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
- Maintain accurate records of mechanical systems, components, and modifications. The drawings should be updated and attached to SAP stock room components.
- Support maintenance and engineering teams by providing technical drawings for repairs, installations, and upgrades.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to gather specifications and ensure drawing accuracy.
- Assist in the documentation of equipment changes, upgrades, and retrofits.
- Create and manage drawing files, ensuring proper version control and accessibility.
- Support the creation of work orders and documentation related to mechanical projects.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and applicable safety regulations.
- Perform site visits to verify measurements and gather data for drafting purposes.
- Work safely and enforce workplace safety practices as outlined by Atlas Tube Inc. and OH&SA.
- Verify incoming material from vendors (manufactured components) meet the print design and specifications to ensure efficient installation and no delays for additional modifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred but not required)
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma
- Great communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in CAD Software (Autocad)
- Ability to work longer than 40 hours when needed
- 10 Years of Experience
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
- Must be able to lift 60lbs.
- Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
- Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment
- Other physical requirements as needed for job
Compensation for this role is $62,000 -$109,000 plus 5% bonus.
