We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and managing transportation infrastructure projects that shape the future of our Province.
Lead and managetransportation engineering projects from conception to completion.
Develop and review roadway designs, traffic impact studies, and transportation plans.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
Utilize advanced engineering software and CAD tools to create detailed design plans and specifications.
Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess project requirements and constraints.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national transportation standards and regulations.
Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate project progress and technical solutions.
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in transportation engineering.
Contribute to business development efforts through proposal writing and networking activities.
Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations forming our Health Safety & Environmental management system.
Participate in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.

Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
Minimum 10 years' of progressive consulting experience completing transportation projects for Alberta Transportation or Municipal clients.
Demonstrated experience with Alberta Transportation design guidelines and construction specifications.
Ability to read and understand survey plans and drawings.
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software would be considered an asset.
Excellent field negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Available to travel, evenings and weekends may be necessary.
Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
Provide a 3 year driver abstract with 2 or less minor incidents and no major incidents.
