Job Description
Are you ready to steer a talented team of engineers toward success? We are currently looking for a Project Engineer with leadership skills to play a driving force behind cutting-edge projects. Working in our Land & Joint division in Advanced Vetronics Systems, you will thrive in a collaborative environment and foster strong communication with colleagues to execute on projects and shared goals. Some of your day to day will include:
Provide leadership and direction to a team of engineers and support personnel during project execution.
Ensure seamless collaboration and communication within the team and across departments.
Schedule and coordinate design review gates in alignment with the Engineering Development Framework.
Author or oversee the creation of project deliverable documents, maintaining a commitment to quality and precision.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to review project performance monthly, analyzing risks (technical, cost, schedule), and taking corrective action as needed.
Support the development and maintenance of engineering project plans and other business plans.
Interface with support departments, Supply Chain, Component Engineering, and Contracts to ensure smooth project progression.
Communicate and interface with customers, responding to queries and Request for Quotations, and preparing the Basis of Estimate.
Proactively identify opportunities for product and process improvements and drive the implementation of necessary changes.
Track component obsolescence issues and material constraints that may impact future production.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or applicable scientific discipline is required
Having 6+ years of related engineering experience.
Experience with Display products considered an asset
Strong interpersonal and managerial skills, whether working as a self-motivated individual, a team member or leader.
Broad knowledge of the System development process and lifecycles, requirements definition and management.
Broad knowledge of Supply chain management processes and procedures
Strong analytical and research abilities, detail oriented
Excellent customer service in order to support client groups and key business decision making
Deliver clear, concise and professional communication
Hands-on experience with MS Office applications
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

The hiring range for this position is $88,000 - $110,000 CAD annual. Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:
