Our Jacksonville, Florida distribution center is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our growing logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of our facility, contributing directly to our supply chain operations. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, adherence to strict safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain equipment, perform daily checks, and operate in compliance with all company and OSHA standards. Your work will involve loading and unloading trucks, moving products to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures for warehouse operations.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Adhere to all regulations regarding the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
