We are looking for an experienced Material Handler to join our bustling warehouse operations in Fort Worth, Texas. As a Material Handler, you will be the backbone of our internal logistics, ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. Your role will involve operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport goods, keeping inventory organized, and supporting the receiving and shipping departments. Safety is paramount in this role, and adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE, is expected. This position offers a great opportunity to develop your skills in a critical industry. The ability to perform heavy lifting is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into storage areas.
- Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away, replenishment, and cycle counting.
- Inspect equipment regularly to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the use of required PPE.
- Support the shipping and receiving departments as needed.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in team efforts to meet operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 70 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
