We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our vibrant warehouse team in Jacksonville, Florida. This dual-role position is essential for managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, inspecting them for quality and completeness, and preparing outgoing shipments for dispatch. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment are crucial. You will work closely with our logistics coordinators to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries. Adherence to all company safety policies, including the proper use of PPE, is mandatory.Responsibilities:
- Receiving, unloading, and inspecting incoming shipments.
- Verifying received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Documenting all receiving activities accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Picking, packing, and preparing outgoing orders for shipment.
- Creating shipping labels and coordinating with carriers for pickups.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records through cycle counts and audits.
- Ensuring all warehouse areas, particularly shipping and receiving, are clean and organized.
- Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (if certified).
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Identifying and reporting any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns.
- Practicing safe lifting techniques for various items and palletized goods.
- Supporting overall logistics efficiency and contributing to team goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency with WMS and shipping software is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and order fulfillment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform lifting tasks (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to using PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
