Position Summary
The Event Crew aids the team in the prompt delivery and removal of food and beverage items, is hospitable and cordial to guests and coworkers, acts safely and responsibly, and is knowledgeable about the vessel and the skyline. The Event Crew will personally contribute to the amazing guest experience, be favorably viewed by supervisors and peers, and be swift and efficient in the execution of their assigned duties.

Duties And Responsibilities
Provide amazing hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System
Provide guests with water, coffee/tea, and bread service throughout the meal
Polish plates, cutleries, and glasses
Assist bartender polishing bar glasses when required
Assist the kitchen staff on expediting food orders when required
Deliver plated food orders on the table
Prepare dressing, condiments, butter, and bread warmer
Bus used and unneeded dishes and glassware from guests' tables to kitchen
Set up and maintain buffets so they are appealing to the guest
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations; clean up spilled food, drink, and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash
Set up and break down dining room/event room, and service stations as prescribed; this requires movement of dining cabin furniture
Clean the dining room areas in between events, including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping
Light housekeeping (dust and wipe ceiling, mirrors, windows and ledges and railings)
Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of washrooms, serveries, dining cabin and service stations
Assists with food plating and buffet service when required
Provide information to guests including menu descriptions, order of service, entertainment options, cruise route and points of interest
Executes all opening and closing activities which include stocking, replenishing, wiping, sweeping and other duties as required to maintain an appealing, hygienic, healthy and safe environment for staff and guests in their designated work areas. Including the completion of all daily & weekly checklists.
Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shift (sorts, counts currency and coins) to ensure that amounts are correct and that change amounts are adequate.
Responsible for all sales transactions from selling food and beverage items to cash reconciling in an accurate and timely fashion.
Rotates food and beverage products by practicing first in and first out procedures.
Checks I.D. on any guests ordering alcohol who look under 30 years old. Legal drinking age is 19 years old
Removes soiled linen and replace with clean linen
Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
Assist with the warm and efficient greeting and seating of guests when they arrive
Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time

Following establish guidelines, takes initiative on work to be done
Collect garbage from the kitchen and all areas for disposal
Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty
Requirements & Qualifications
O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience
Previous restaurant experience preferred
Smart Serve Certification Required
Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others
Will work for extended periods of time without sitting
Required to lift furniture and other heavy items such as bus tubs up and down stairs
Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays and weekends
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 lbs (18 kgs)
Non-slip footwear is required to ensure safety in the workplace. Crew members must wear appropriate non-slip shoes during shifts.
If required, wear additional assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
