Data Engineer
to enhance our
Telecom Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
environment. The ideal candidate will possess robust hands-on experience in
data ingestion, transformation, data quality assurance, operations engineering, data modeling, and data delivery . This role is crucial for ensuring the availability, reliability, and quality of data that fuels enterprise analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making within our telecom organization. Key Responsibilities: Data Ingestion & Integration:
Design, implement, and manage automated data ingestion pipelines using FiveTran and other ETL/ELT tools. Integrate data from various telecom systems (OSS/BSS, CRM, billing, network systems, etc.) into Snowflake, while ensuring scalability and reliability to meet business SLAs. Data Transformation & Modeling:
Develop and optimize ELT pipelines in Matillion for efficient data transformations in Snowflake. Build and maintain data models (staging, core, mart layers) to support reporting and analytics, following best practices for consistency. Data Quality & Governance:
Implement and monitor data validation, profiling, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with governance teams to maintain metadata and documentation. Operations Engineering:
Support daily operations of the EDW, including job scheduling and performance tuning. Implement alerting and observability practices to ensure high system uptime. Analytics & Data Delivery:
Work with analysts and BI developers to enable data consumption in Tableau and other systems, developing and optimizing extracts, dashboards, and APIs for various business uses. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to translate business needs into effective data engineering solutions. Contribute to standards and automation within the team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing, preferably in the telecom domain. Strong proficiency with FiveTran, Snowflake, Matillion, Tableau, and Secoda or similar solutions. Solid understanding of data modeling and metadata management. Proficient in SQL and familiar with Python or bash scripting for automation, as well as cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Preferred Qualifications: Telecom industry experience, especially with OSS/BSS and network data sources. Experience in CI/CD for data pipelines. Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation frameworks. Exposure to data observability tools and incident management practices. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in issue resolution. Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
