Border Patrol Agent Job Description
A Border Patrol Agent plays a crucial role in safeguarding the nation's borders, preventing illegal activities, and fostering economic prosperity. As an integral member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer profession, this position requires individuals with strong judgment skills, effective communication abilities, and analytical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detect and question suspected individuals violating immigration laws
- Prevent and apprehend undocumented non-citizens at or near borders
- Maintain surveillance using infrared scopes during night operations
- Analyze physical evidence to determine entry violations
- Patrol international boundaries using government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, etc.
The ability to speak and read Spanish is required for this position.
